Pavel Tichoň is a mid-generation artist whose creative approach is characterised by a lack of boundaries and a free movement between media. He challenges the established perceptions of art, artists and the art scene. For the exhibition in Zlín, Tichoň prepared a new project related to history and the local cultural context. The artist's project is based on photographs taken by the artist's great-uncle, an employee of the Bata company, during his business stays in Africa, especially in Sudan. In the vicinity of the exhibition of travellers Zikmund and Hanzelka, the artist unconventionally opens up the theme of travel and economic and cultural colonialism.
