Art Magazine Prostor Zlín

The art magazine Space Zlín (Prostor Zlín) is a specialized magazine which has been published for almost twenty years. It is released each trimester by the Regional Gallery of Fine Arts in Zlín which cooperates with important Czech and Slovak artists, curators and other professionals from various gallery institutions.

Fine arts that traditionally concentrate on the contemporary production as well as on the gallery collection and exhibition experience are the main topic of Space Zlín. The modern architecture and design play an important part in its content, but the monument care, applied arts and urbanism are dealt with as well. Many magazine articles have been dedicated to the Slovak fine arts since 2004. History, especially the one emphasizing science and arts, has remained the topic of the magazine for many years. Other magazine sections are dedicated to the gallery pedagogy (i.e. educational and entertainment programs in the specific gallery environment) and to poetry.

In 1996 the magazine was given the Certificate of a High Quality Graphic Design by the Czech Information Design Institute. Its contemporary version aims to reflect as much as possible the way of thinking and the visual conception of the younger art scene. Besides the critical reviews, interviews with artists, presentations of art collections throughout the whole Czech Republic, the magazine includes the regular poetry selections, modern visualization and picture stories.

The art magazine Space Zlín with a long history is an important medium for the influential Czech and Slovak theorists, curators, researchers and art students.
