Dana Sahánková is one of our most outstanding contemporary artists. Sahánková's home ground is the technique of drawing, often complemented by ink painting. She creates a rich mosaic of individual lines and surfaces to represent the interrelationships between humans, civilization, and nature, often using animals or plants. The setting is indeterminate, on the border between dream and reality, materializing her Invisible World. The artist primarily uses black as her essential colour, which is logical in relation to her technique. However, in recent years, she has incorporated a broader colour palette in her works to support the subject matter and evoke specific emotions. The delicate coloured surfaces create a strong contrast with the drawing elements, resulting in a dynamic intermingling that Sahánková successfully achieves. The Zlín exhibition aims to present the artist's development since 2013, with an emphasis on her current work. The exhibition will showcase her artistic progression since her last presentation in Zlín or in Valašské Meziříčí in 2013.
