From Memorial to Memorial 1933–2013

The exhibition presents 80 yrs history of Tomáš Bata Memorial, which was renamed Zlín House of Arts in 1948 and became a seat of The Regional gallery of fine arts and Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra. Both institutions have got new representative premises in Zlín recently, so that this considerable monument, a work of an outstanding Czech architect Frantisek Lydie Gahura, could get its original valuable architectonic appearence.

Concert

On behalf of the mayor of Municipality Zlín, Mr. Miroslav Adámek, let us invite you to the ceremonious concert of Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra, which takes place on Thursday 31th January from 7 p.m. in the Zlín House of Arts.

Programme of the concert:

Antonín Dvořák: Carnival Overture
Francis Poulenc: Concerto for Organ, Timpani and Strings in G minor
Leoš Janáček: Taras Bulba

Solo: Tomáš Thon, organ
Conductor: Stanislav Vavřínek

The programme after the concert continues with an official closing of the exhibition From Memorial to Memorial 1933–2013. It is conceived as a ceremonious valediction with the Zlín House of Arts which´ll change its status back into The Memorial of Tomas Bata recently.

You can also enjoy the opening of a new exhibition dedicated to the presentation of student urbanistic concepts of the new usage of the building.
