Petr Bařinka (*1979) is a multimedia visual artist. In his work he combines seemingly naive fairy tale elements with more serious themes related to memory, the unconscious, fear and fantasy. He captures images that imprint themselves on his memory. His work uses a range of current techniques from painting to sculpture, photography, film, digital printing and animation. He is constantly experimenting with different materials and techniques.
What does the name SUPER LAST MINUTE mean? The addition of "super" at the last minute increases the intensity of the super bargain offer for a trip to the seaside. The title of the author of the exhibited collection of works does not invite to a holiday trip, but an imaginary and haunting journey "into the void", which opens up like an ocean, like the cosmic void of an orphaned universe after the "end of the world", or rather after the (self)destruction of humanity on planet Earth. It is a thought that makes a mortal giddy. However, the installation does not take us "the day after", but takes place on the imaginary threshold, on the edge of the figuratively exposed "very last minute" of a total event, after which not only the life of an individual would end in the sense of the last watch, but the end of the life of all human beings, i.e. living beings.
SUPER LAST MINUTE is an imaginary minute of the world. More precisely, the last minute of humanity on our planet.
